OK picture this...



It was quiet on my ride home, too quiet...

it's dark, and late,

I was at the red light, a light I've been to so many times before...

This light is a 3 minute wait if your not on the money!

But if you time it just right, it can be beaten...

Basically its a few hundred feet to another light,

which turns yellow 5 seconds after your light goes green.

I anxioiusly watch the other lights preparing...

The adreneline starts pumping... the engine purrs,

seconds feel like minutes...

a bead of sweat runs down my forehead...

GREEN LIGHT!

I'm on the drag strip... high revs...

1st gear, 2nd gear, pulling hard...

3rd gear missed the shift...



s#^t! my tach broke... stuck at zero... but i did make the light!



any ideas?

First unhook the cable and see if it spins when the bike is running. If not the cable is broken.
