I hope to visit Northern Europe in a couple of years time -- fancy Scandinavia for my sins. Might use the CX or my Gl1100 or maybe my newly acquired BMW K1100. Ah-- to be spoilt for choice,, this comes with no mortgage or kids sucking my wages. Time , or age , enables me to enjoy my hard work of youth.

Do you know what ? - I am seriously tempted. what ya doing during the week when the sun shines longest?ie.e midsummers day week !

Working weekdays and (like millions of other finns) I'm going to spend the Midnight Summer party weekend at the summer cottage with my family, big fire on the yard and eating sausages...

But weekday evenings I'll ride my bike (if it isn't raining) so if You are around the I could show You this neighborhood. But You should also drive to the Lapland and see sun shining 24 hours a day. (In Helsinki we have 1-2 hours night)

Hi Oma, i`m coming to Scandanavia in May/June.

Not venturing as far as Finland though.

Denmark, Sweden then Norway, probably only going as far North as Trondheim, about 1200 miles from home for me (about 2000km).

Although not far enough north to get midnight sun it`ll be dusk all night in June - maybe see the Northern Lights at that latitude if we`re lucky?



Trollstigen, Laerdal Tunnel and Atlantic Ocean Road are places to aim for, should be good.

Trondheim is north enough for northern lights but you never know - it's up to the sun or more precisely the magnetic storms coming from the sun. But anyway the night is very short (unless the weather is cloudy, then it's darker).



But if there are people riding to Sweden then it's very short trip to Southern Finland - several big ferries daily between Stockholm/Turku and Stockholm/Helsinki. Spend a night at the ship...
