I'm looking to upgrade the mufflers on my 81. I ordered a set from Emgo, but it turns out they are the wrong type. Instead of sliding into the crossover, it is designed to slide over the exhaust pipe. Does anyone know how to find mufflers with the correct fitting? Is it possible to upgrade the mufflers without modifying. If not, has anyone had experience with making the necessary modifications?

Alot of threads on here with people doind dyna mufflers, jusht do a search for dyna mufflers....

I think I measured the inlets as 1 7/8ths but I echo the dyna mufflers. Or any harley muffler but dyna for sure.

I used these ones - http://www.jerryscyc...atalog/i25.html Worked quite well, and I like the sound - very close to stock.

Keep in mind that these ones still require the Honda gaskets that are about $5 each.
