Hey guys,



I bought my cx500d recently and the left muffler is rusted from the bottom of the tip. So I decided to buy some sporty mufflers from the local harley and want to fit them to my honda. As I've never undertaken any project like this one I just wanted to get some opinions as to the best course of action. The mounting bracket (5.5 inches from hole to hole) would have to be wider than the OEM.

Just get a length of flat metal and drill a hole in each side so it fits right.



Cardboard is good for making a quick template.

That's basically what I did here, not exactly the same mounting points as yours but hopefully it'll give you some ideas:
