Redid wiring getting fuel and spark, but sparks seem to be firing on every revolution. I've been pouring over my schematics, and I can't figure it out. Even when I use starting fluid, nothing happens, and I readjusted my cam-shaft chain.
Ken, we are going to need to know a lot more than that. Help us all out by editing your profile with your location, and put your bike model and year in the signature line.
Can you expand on the symptoms and other details about the bike's history? Thanks.
These engines do have what is known as a "wasted spark",,they do fire on every revolution.
I have heard of people having a similar problem as you describe because they had the wires from the CDI going to the wrong coils.
IF you have a CDI type bike,,the yellow wire from the CDI goes to the coil on the left side of the bike(Left as you sit on the bike),,and the pink wire goes to the right side coil.
Yup.... I've had the same effect on my homemade projects when I had the coils flipped over (to get them under the flat tank) and forgot to switch the coil signal/connection wires (late type ignition)
