why did you disconnect the starter solenoid its not in the reg cicuit

The positive battery wire goes to one side of the solenoid the other to the starter

The starter is tripped by the button
The neutral switch or clutch switch provide ground for the

Solenoid trigger winding so again what does that have to do

With the charging system or am I missing something
