Anyone that is working Keihin/Honda carbs with Air Cut Valves should read this: https://www.motorcycleproject.com/text/aircut_valve_more.html

I highly recommend bypassing the ACVs. Last fall when I was preparing the GL500 engine & carbs for Eccles and had no money for a carb kit I moved the better rubber parts from the 650 carbs I was removing and bypassed the Air Cuts per Mike's description and I have not heard any afterfiring and it seems to be running as well as I could have hoped and making about the power I expected it would.
