I just added you as a friend,,I got an email that said you had added me to your friend list, I went to my messages and got this:
Allan,
Joel has successfully added you to their friends list.

I don't know why you got the message you got,,I will send you a PM to see if you can read it.

I see it too. You must have not chose an option right in your settings.

Joel, click your user name at the top right, select "Settings" from the drop down menu,,when that page loads,, on the left side of the page click "Notification Options" ,,,the last option under "privacy settings" is "Disable my personal messenger"
"If you disable your personal messenger, you will not be able to start or participate in personal conversations."
Make sure that box is not checked.

I can never find the way into the messenger. I've got one going on but it doesn't always e-mail me if I've received a response.

Marshall,,to get into messenger, click your user name at the top right, select "Messenger" from the drop down menu.
To check if your settings are correct for getting email notifications, follow the instructions I posted for Joel, but once you are on the "Notification Options" page,,scroll to the bottom of the page and be sure the first checkbox(email) following these 3 lines are checked.
Notify me when I receive a new personal conversation
Notify me of replies to my personal conversations
Notify me when I am invited to a personal conversation
