Hi guys,

I bought a 1982 CX500 and I want to give it some old look type wheels .
But since I still want to have a large width on the rear wheel,
I narrowed my options to a Victory TT 500x17 (my preference) or a 500x16

Now I know it will fit on width but I'm not sure it will on the max diameter with the swingarm.

The dimensions are:
500x17
Overall diameter 27.39" --> 696 mm
section width 5.35" --> 136 mm

500x16
Overall diameter 26.42" --> 671mm
section width 5.35" --> 136 mm

Does anyone have fit a 500x17 already? Or knows if it will fit?

It seems though PopbangClassics manage to fit one with same max diameter on a 1981 CX500 Custom.

fitting it will require some mods to the swing arm and removing the final drive from the swing arm each time you remove the tire

make sure you have good insurance as that tire is awful and very twitchy to drive on I wont put them on a bike except for display

What kind of mods do you mean? I thought about removing a bit of the inside wield.

I also thought of using a SHINKO E270, and comments seem to say they are better than the Victory.
I guess you agree with it.
