Master Cylinder

Does anyone know if this master cylinder will work on a GL 500? Link

I can't seem to find the cross reference list that used to be on the site.

Thanks,

I don't know if I would buy that one because of it's small bore diameter but I would get this one or similar with at least 14mm bore.

The seller does a good job at making everyone happy. I have one of his MC's on my bike and it has worked fine for the last 4 or so years.
Thanks Stitch, I figured you would be the first to respond to my post.

I know he offers one specifically for the GL 500, but it is $30.00 more and I need 2 of them, so cheaper is better as long as it works.

Thanks again,

I believe you are mistaken but a lot of people are. This guy sells 6 types of 7/8th bar master cylinders. None are for the cx/gl/cb or what ever other motorcycle anyone has. What the seller does is list the MC that is closest to the standard for that type of motorcycle. So the one that is listed for the gl500 is listed for every two piston dual caliper bike. What he does is takes that and says someone has to be looking for one mc for a gl500 and then people looking for a gl500 MC see it and fight over it. Where as if he said this is good for all then there might be lest fighting from people who think that it has to be specific.

Just want you to be safe. Sure the one you listed may be good if you have a single caliper bike Most mc's are 12-16mm bore depending on where they fit on the chart.

I have noticed that many people recommend these master cylinders. That can only mean that people are happy with these and they perform well correct?

Originally I was going to rebuild mine but decided that a new replacement would be a better option.
They work really well.

Say you have a problem like Rickbert did and I think a few others that got some that didn't work well. The seller told them to throw them away and not return them and he would send a new one.

Maybe Rick can comment on his experience. I want to say that Wayne may have been another that got a bad one.

Thanks Stitch. Good info. As long as it works and I can plug in the brake light, I'm happy. The link you gave me is the same price as the one I was asking about, so I am happy.

Thanks Stitch. Sometimes I wonder what we would do without some of you guys.
