How detailed are your maintenance records? I record the following: Date of maintenance , mileage, maintenance performed, part number, part cost, where the part was purchased. I use a spreadsheet to keep it all orderly.

Do any of you keep a trip record (where you have ridden and the mileage)?

Plain old Word doc. I list date, mileage and any narrative necessary about the work I did or parts replaced. Mostly it lets me remember when the next oil change is due and how many miles I have on my tires.

Same process for both my bikes. I don't record costs or anything like that.

Date, Mileage, and work done. I keep the receipts, but do not put the cost info on my record keeping.

Just a mental note and if the part was a lot I'll probably complain for a while. But nothing on paper.

I've used this site since 'couchy' was new (to me).

It's by Jason Jonas (a well respected long distance rider)

It records everything you put into the bike along with intervals of oil changes, tire changes, motor changes etc.

That is so cool! Beats Fuelly IMO. I kept insanely complete written records of fuel and oil etc for about a year, but once I got a job I stopped worrying about that stuff and just ride. I am going to start using Miles Tracker to keep track of maintanance. Just added my GL650! a minute ago. Thanks drneo
