I use Dow 111 O ring lube. It is essentially semi-solid silicone. You should be able to source it from auto parts stores. The tube I have is the size of a regular caulking gun tube, and should be enough for about 400 years. I would caution about using too much, you don't want them so slick that they bounce off.

Dielectric grease works well too. You can get small packets of them at any auto parts stores too. Like Blue said though, not too much.

About half those little squeeze packets (spark plug boot grease, electrical grease, caliper pin lube) is all the same stuff - simple silicone grease. It's most economical to buy in about an 8 oz tube, sometimes in the electrical section, sometimes by the paint, sometimes by the weatherstrip cement since they sell it as a lube for that too.
