I've always been a function kind of guy; make it work, forget about the looks.

But, now I've got this pretty much original 27 year old bike, I'm a little bit scared to screw around with it.

Honey......we need another bike.......I can't take the fairing off the GL, it's permanent,,,, I need a CX....just one.....and a parts bike would save so much time and money, buying off E-bay isn't working out that great.

Honey.....if we had a few of these bikes we could restore them and sell em for a profit, we could sell the spare parts on E-bay and make some money.

No it won't look like a junk yard, I'll build a privacy fence.

Your mother will throw you out inside a week.

I didn't mean to ignore you. I know it's just a motorcycle. I just got carried away. I'd never pave the herb garden....I love you too.

There are great looking bikes that handle and run like crap. There are ugly as sin bikes that handle well and never miss a beat. I like to watch that chopper show on tv where the dad and kid fight all the time. Those bikes are works of art but they also look like organ donor machines as well. Try riding one of those for a while and say goodbye to your vertebra bursa.

looks and handling with a dependable power plant. That's what we've all got.
