With the exception of a few dents, this fuel tank is in generally good shape I think.
I'm looking for ideas on what to do with it.
Would it be possible to get the dents out? I'm thinking not (for any reasonable cost)...
If I chose to maintain the metal look - whats the best top coat / protectant?

You could remove the dents but I doubt they would push out. You would have to use something like a magna spot welder that welds a copper rod to the metal that you can pull out with a slide hammer. I think they sell a similar problem at harbor freight.

Or maybe take it by a paintless dent removal person that inflates those airbags inside. I doubt the glue dent removal tools would work.

No clue on the paint prep.

Thanks @Blindstitch, yeah that tank is pretty thick, I wouldn't think that the glue method would work. I have a dent on my Chevrolet Express' chrome bumper - I haven't even attempted the glue-dent-removal on that :)
