I just got mine out of storage, I'm hoping for an early summer!! anyways, enough fantasies. When I turned on my petcock I found fuel leaking onto the top of the engine. It appears to be coming from where the accelerator tube meets the bottom of the left hand carb. Is there a seal in there that can be replaced, or do I need a new set of carbs? If the seal can be replaced, can I do it without dropping the engine and removing the carbs?

Hi Chris,

Yes there are O-rings at the end of that tube and the fuel cross tube. Sounds like it's actually the fuel cross tube since it's leaking when you turned the fuel on. The accelerator pump tube is only in action just after you turn the throttle when the pump pumps fuel.

In order to fix it you will need to pull the carbs and split them apart to change the O-rings. It unfortunately will require balancing the carbs again after you put them back together. Sounds like a good time to do a good cleaning while you are at it.
