When you did the compression test, was the engine warm, throttle wide open, choke off, and engine cranked until gage stopped rising. It does make a lot of difference on how you do the test.



How did you determine that the rings were stuck and the exhaust valve was leaking? The only way to point to those would be a leakdown test. And that isn't always a sure thing either.



Sometimes a good soaking will free up rings, combined with some running. I would probably try a few things before I yanked the heads.
