So yesterday way the biggest ride I've taken on my bike to date. I tanked the bike up and headed out of town on Rt6. Left Ottawa, went through Marseilles, Seneca, Morris, Channahon, Minooka, Joliet, into New Lenox where I went to a friends house (Rt 6 all the way). She has known my family since I was a baby in a car seat, and has been there for every big moment in my life so far, so I had to show her the bike. Tried taking a picture of her Great Dane next to the bike, cause the dog is darn near the size of the GL... lol. It didn't work out so well, the dog didn't want to sit still. The ride was nice while the sun was up but when the sun started going down it got cooler and the possibility of deer crossing the road became greater. I DID see deer on my way home, but they were in the field (YAY!) Official trip miles after fueling was 116.

It's still 40(F) out..... but my morning work is done. I'm going for a ride

I only put another 60 miles on today- spent the day visiting etc, and when I longed for coffee, I stopped at the local Dunkin Donuts- having no cupholder I was forced to go in.

"Excuse me, but what is that?" I was asked after I sat down with my coffee. "It's a Honda GL500." I answered

"Ah, a Honda GL" he repeated

*long pause*

"What year is it?" He asked me

*I smiled* "Guess." (yes I was curious what the answer would be!!)

"2009."

"Nah, it's a 1982" I replied, my smile growing bigger and bigger- as his eyes got huge....... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

and how was your day???

I didn't want to get out of bed and then when I saw frost on my windows I really decided against riding the bike this morning. Maybe if I get up early enough to be out the door early enough to ride like molasses to work I'll take the bike tomorrow... LOL.... Maybe I should take a pic of the road I have to do the most riding on because I really sound like a sissy when it comes to deer, but if they're spooked and already decided they are crossing the road, they're to pavement in 2 leaps (maybe)....

It was a productive weekend as far as riding- got a few surprised looks from fellow riders- not sure if it was because of the bike, or what- but from everyone I saw over the weekend I was the only lady riding my own bike

It's a good feeling to open the bike up and just listen.... although I guess the bike sounds way louder to me because I didn't even wake up the Great Dane when I pulled up to the house..... I plan on going out again tonight after work
