Well, it has been a week since Charles unveiled the new site. It looks like close to 500 people have signed up and made almost 3000 posts. I think that is a amazing testament to these bikes, the members and Charles for allowing us to participate. That also gives us an idea of how many active members we actually have. I would have guessed only a hundred or so, but there is more interest than I had expected.
All in all, I think the site is a huge improvement over the old one. I am still wandering around the forest looking for all the trees, but I'm starting to get a handle on the features. The one thing I really like is being able to review an existing post and start where you haven't read yet. That sure saves a lot of scrolling down the page.
As far as things I would like to see, probably the main one would be a sign-in process that requires a location and bike model that would show up in the posts. Why people are so reluctant to provide this information is beyond me. If you are paranoid about the Federallies or you ex finding you, just type in USA or Antarctica. This information is so helpful when responding to posts as location influences content of many posts. And the bike model is equally important. You can't help to fix something that you can't identify.
Let's hope the site continues to be a valuable resource for those of us who admire these bikes.
Thanks, Charles
