Took the escape pod (that's what I call it now) out for a first ride the other day after a winter of outdoor storage. Valves need adjusted by the sound of things, but this motorcycle runs excellent, always. I think I'll invest in the set of 2 Galfer brake lines (instead of the stock 3 with the splitter behind the horn) Galfer 2-line kit for GL500 and a new master cylinder to smooth out the brake feel a little and have a better reservoir position on my aftermarket bars (specific suggestions for replacement master cylinders appreciated).
I'm thinking about two different rides this season: One to Seneca Rocks, WV + New River Gorge National Park. This would be a short 4 or 5 day trip most likely.
The other one would be more epic: ride up the east coast of Michigan and back down via Green Bay- Milwaukee- Chicago.
Last year (Akron-Durango-Akron) is going to be a hard act to follow, but I don't have the resources or stamina for another one like that.
See you on the road!
