I noticed after riding my bike for a while, the lifters/valves seem to get kinda loud. I did adjust them last week, and when I ride, they stay quiet for probably 5 or 6 miles, and the temp stays very cool per the gauge. eventually, the temp will start to rise slightly, still doesn't move much, but the valves get noisy. I also noticed I smell an antifreeze smell and the bike hesitated a LOT under heavy acceleration, but under normal acceleration, it seems to be fine. I am wondering if my temp gauge is accurate. Any way to tell? I did heat it slightly with a torch while I had it out recently, grounded the sender and turned on the switch and the gauge read hot, so I am thinking the sender is working correctly. Any ideas on what my problem could be? (other than a loose nut between the seat and the handlebars)!

Thats a four for one !

you have to pay extra for them

I'll make some guesses

1 ( when hot) the lifters/valves seem to get kinda loud

Mine gets noisier as it gets hotter I put it down to age and general wear

its mostly clutch/transmission on mine and its had a hard life.

Sheps tip on dressing the tappets may help with yours

2 the temp stays very cool per the gauge

Thermostat stuck open or missing?

3 I also noticed I smell an antifreeze smell

Head gasket?

4 the bike hesitated a LOT under heavy acceleration,

but under normal acceleration, it seems to be fine

Thats a tricky one, could be all sorts

I'd start by examining the plugs and doing a stator test
