I'm looking to buy a CX500 and am interested in the acceleration.. I'm intrigued that the non-turbo CX500 is listed as making [email protected] with a top speed of 106mph while the turbo claims [email protected] with a top speed of 128mph. My question then is, are the two bikes geared the same?

Does anyone know what the difference in gear ratios is? Where does it get the difference, in the drive shaft or in the transmission?

its in the transmission and final out put gears

they are impossible to get

i try and buy up everyone that comes available that i hear about

i have a 549 cc 500 with a turbo trans in it really hard to get lol

its easier to find a wreck cx or gl 650 and use the trans for that in a 500

BUT you better have the 500 pushing 60-65 or better hp at the crank to be able to haul those gears around on the street

The primary gear is different on the turbo and I think the 4th & 5th are different. All the rear ratios are 3.09 except 3.4 on the 650 turbo. Changing gearing on your standard 500 won't do much as it would not have the horsepower to pull the turbo gearing.
