Hi, all
I just stumbled on a way to remove the impeller without prying and risking cam shaft damage. After soaking the splines with a few drops of penetrating oil, I slipped a short old piece of clear fuel line over the end of my air chuck and put a little more penetrating in it. When I slipped it over the threaded end and tried to force oil into the splines it popped it off in my hand. Your results may vary, but this bike sat a long time and cannot see a way this could damage anything.
