I am restoring a 79 GL500 WING and a GL400 fr0m 1982 In both bikes someone has removed the ignition warning lights and I cannot find anything on the wiring diagrams t help me - I think a Bn/R wire might be relevant but the GL500 has Pink wire for something ?? Do USA bikes not have a IGNTN warning lamp?? Any help appreciated Chris

I'm not aware of any ignition warning lamps. The warning lamps on my bike are for left and right indicators, high beam headlamp, oil pressure and neutral.

Did the JDM GL400 or 500Wings have any other warning lights?

The bike has the standard R; L ; Oil ;Neutral and Main Beam lights This warning lamp is fitted into the speedo of the GL500 and in a separate holder on the GL 400 and it might be a peculiarity of UK and own under bikes -- If light is on then the battery is supplying power to bike so if it comes on while running you have a dead alternator/ rectifier or whatever -- The wiring is weird! to give you an idea the blinker relay has four wires going into it Pink; Black; Green and Brown/ Red . No probs with the Black and the green but the other two?? The mystery continues
Thanks for reading this Chris
