Hey everyone,

I have recently had my stator go out on my 80 cx500c and when I went in to change it out I noticed the wires on the stator weren't the same. From the research I have done I have come to find that I need to update my ignition system from the original CDI. I found the part at Ignatech, Ignition unit for CX500. - IgniTech P?elou?, but I can't figure out how to order. This is the only place that I have found to even have the updated ignition system and was wondering if there were any other companies that made the system that I need?

Cobram here does the group buys, otherwise you need to buy them from ignitech They are available from an Australian ebay seller too but they are gouging.

There are a few other options as well. The Rae-san unit by Rayman (several options to choose from, do a search) and Andy62's FinnBox. Similar to the Ignitech, but with a few differences, so check each out for your application.

Will the differences affect the stator hookup?

Is there any chance we can get a picture or a description of the stator hook up? How many wires and connectors?
