Hi im trying to source an ignition switch for my 78 cx500 i have found one for sale but it only has 5 pins in the multiplug and my bike has six,could i still use this ignition?and what is the extra wire for? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

No, that switch will not work.



You need a switch from a 78-81 bike. The other switch if for a TI type bike you need one for a CDI bike.

Could be very costly,fitting a switch with 5 terminals (ti) to a 6 wire (cdi)plug will cause the wiring to burn !

I just noticed you are in the UK,,I am not certain of the years that the CDI bikes were made over there,,but as long as it is for a CDI type bike it should work.
