Ignition removal 1979 cx 500

Have a 1979 cx500 frame with a ignition and want to install it in a 1982 GL500 silverwing that does not. How is this done? Thanks In advance. Al

If we're talking the ignition switch then there are two bolts that hold the it in from below.

But the two switches aren't compatible.

If we're talking about all the wiring then there's more info that you need to know.

Jesus three posts in a row. How did that happen.

The cx500 uses a different igntion system than the Gl500.

The cx is a cdi based ignition that has a 3 circuit stator and pulsars in the engine, Where as the gl has a 1 circuit stator and pulsars are by the battery.

If you want to swap either way you have to swap all the guts in the rear cover and the rotor on the back of the engine. The cx rotor has 1 indent and the gl has 2.
