Ok its probably on here I'm just not finding it so sorry guys but I'm going to ask. Can someone briefly explain to me the main differances in the ignition from the previous models to my 82? Will any ignition parts from my 81 work on the 82? Will a ignitech work on the 82? Are there any big problems with these ignitions? Mines fine right now at almost 19000 knock on wood, I'm just checking because I don't like not knowing things about my bike.

The 81 CX has a CDI ignition and the 82 CX has a TI ignition. Many of your questions are answered here.

For the most part, no.
Will a ignitech work on the 82?
No, it's not applicable.
Are there any big problems with these ignitions?
Failed stators and CDI units are not unusual with CDI ignitions. TI ignitions are significantly more reliable.
