Just been chatting to TrevH

and he told me its been 3 years this month since we fitted an Ignitech to his

'lives outdoors, used in all but the foulest weather' work bike.

He says its still working and starting well even at very low temps.

I always liked the concept but the longevity was an unknown so thats why we got the club to

get one for an extended test.

I hope others who have them get similar good service.

I think i'm around a year and a half with the same results.

The only part that I doubt is the casing. The stock cdi is surrounded by an epoxy mix. But the seat does a pretty good job at covering it from the elements.

I've been running with the Ignitech for 2 1/2 years, hasn't missed a beat. It keeps on ticking even when the bikes lying on its side with one header half way out of the head and "idling" at +/-45 RPM, BTDT and got the Tshirt.

Over 120 Ignitechs in use by CX'ers on this BB, and not one person has had need to utilize the warranty.

Steve,

As the US importer and promoter of the Ignitec devices, you may have done more good singlehandedly for the US CX riders than most anyone else. And doing so without taking a profit on the whole affair in the true spirit that this Club was founded upon, and attempts to further daily. A Grand Nagus for sure I say, and my hat's off to you, sir!

No kidding. And the $10 to Charles was genius. Just looking forward to the tax return so that I can join the ranks.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Except i thought the phrase Grand Nagus meant 'Big Nag' for when a poster went over a certain number of posts.

Yes, I have nothing but praise for this unit, its been over 3 yrs since I was asked to try one on test, I would say the acceleration is still better than when the bike would have been new. As Reg said the bike is outside all year, the other week it was -11c and although turning over slow it started first time.

I thought there was one that had to be sent back.

There was one that had a problem. Thought it was someone like Doward that had it. Maybe I can dig up some info.

Steve, I too want to throw in my thanks for your efforts. My CX really feels rejuvunated with the Ignitech. BTW since

you brought it up, how are "you" since the crash? And did I miss out on your replacement bike?
