The rear brake drum on my project GL650 is about an inch wider than the drum on my GL500. That inch is also about the clearance between the left swingarm and the muffler on the 500. The wider drum on the 650 takes up that space, and on that bike the swingarm is actually barely scraping the muffler as the wheel goes up and down. Does the GL650 have a wider swingarm to accommodate the wider brake drum, and thereby need a different muffler bracket or something else to compensate for the difference? I could put a thick washer where the muffler bracket attaches and get a little clearance, but that will likely take the muffler slightly out of alignment with the H-box. Everything looks centered and straight on the frame and rear end.
