Seems like the hot topic of the week is how to change your title from grand fugly thing with big ears to something more custom.



Randall i'm going to blame you.

Well this is how you do it.



Go to your profile and click edit profile.



Under the your options profile tab you will see a spot that says Member Title. That's where you enter whatever is appropriate and hit save.

On my change profile page, there is no 'Member Title' box. There is the 'Show x latest visitors' followed by 'Select yor Birthday" , nothing in between. ?? I would post a picture but don't know how that is done.

As you can see, I finally figured mine out. Edit profile is where you need to be, and the pic above shows that it is blank, even though the forum format has you listed as Grand Nagus, or whatever it is. Entering into that blank area then saving will change it.



Now I just have to wait for Rickbert to give me a pile of grief about my choice.

I wonder if you need a certain number of posts before you have that option,,maybe 500?



I noticed anyone who has changed theirs has over that.

By the way, in another post someone said that the Mod's have the capability to view our individual computers to pick out a picture from our personal files. Is this true?

No, it's not true. I read that too in the "Welcome to the new forum" thread. It was a joke.

The mods most likely have the ability to change a profile picture as well as other details on the member's accounts, but they can't access our computers with or through the forum software.

The only ones that think that believe we are out to get them and spread their propaganda.





Sure we have privileges. We can edit your posts if the need arises, delete it, or delete the whole thread. We can even ban people or make it so a mod has to approve every post before it goes up. Sounds like a lot more work that we need. But that's it. We can't go into your profile and edit things or for that matter see pm's. We can see your ip address.



But since us mods are working people with lives we don't want to be digging into yours especially doing it the dirty way. So no fear.

We can remove avatars or member photo's. Probably because they could be obscene and we can change the member title, member status, instant messaging stuff and signature line. But why would we.

Stubby as a test I changed your member title to what you sent me earlier. So I guess I can do that even if a person hasn't made it over the imaginary line.



So I guess if you want your title changed pm me with what you want it to be and I could do that.



Gopher if you want a new title just say so.



Also Stubby can you check and see if now that I changed it if you have the ability to change it to something else yourself?
