I need some help re-attaching the Faring on my 79 CX500C. Does anyone have instructions or pictures on how to attach the Faring. I made the mistake on not taking pictures when I removed it a couple of years ago. Any help would be great! Thanks.

Is that like the fairing on the GL? Mine sits on a bracket, has 4 bolts (2 on each side) and plugs in. Looked more intimidating and complicated than it really was once I got into it.



I could be completely off, but trying to help anyway

I know it has two brackets and plugs in for the lights. It stays stationary. Dakota, do you have pics of yours?

Mine is fork mounted and stays stationary.... I know there is a pic of my bike with fairing in the "Illinois" thread- I put it there last night.... let me see if I can find the link to the picture blog I started when I got the bike

Here is the front of the bike- you can see the bracket/ framework that the fairing sits on top of

This is the underside of the fairing- well, one of the 2 sides with bolts. The bolts go through the holes on the framework, it bolts down on those 4, and ten also there's 4 smaller ones in the front... you can kinda see those smaller bolt holes in this picture (bottom of the fairing)

Is it a Vetter Fairing? I have some pics of the Vetter mountings for a standard CX that might help, if it's a Vetter let me know and I'll dig out the pics and post.
