I have a new to me 83 cx650c. the bike is in pretty good shape, i dropped the engine to do some light cleaning and thought i would change the gaskets. thought i would get some gasket paper and make my own. i know there's a certain thickness for the rear cover but what about the head gasket?

It's best to buy new head gaskets instead of making some. And the honda ones seem to hold up better than the aftermarket ones.

I agree with Blindstitch -- get the Honda head gaskets. All other gaskets on the bike can be made by hand if you choose.

For the front and rear gaskets you would require .8mm gasket paper

Head gaskets from Honda would be the best, but i have used "good quality" head gaskets from E-Bay with no problems to date
