$140 to ship, but I hope it will fit the 82, if not then watch the "For Sale" section

Wayne it will fit but you are going to need the mounting brackets for the fairing. Since yours is an 82 Silverwing there should not be a problem. However, my 82 was a plain SW, not an Interstate. This meant it had a Vetter fairing (after market), the small trunk and a single disk brake in the front. I made an interstate out of it without too much trouble. It did involve changing the fork lowers, lucky for me an old friend had a pair! BTW the Hondaline fairing will not fit the Vetter frame if that is what you have.

The fairing mount is shown in the fifth photo, with the the lowers. My guess is he'll only need some miscellaneous hardware.

Good score!

Thanks Randal, I overlooked that! I may have some bits & pieces left over, PlumC, let me know if I can help.

It referenced that it was from a 78' but the seller wasn't sure.

Wayne, your probably golden.

....yet,

I'm not sure if they made the hondaline fairings available for the CX500 when they made the goldwings too.

If the mount is for putting a hondaline fairing on a cx, I'm sure you'll possibly have some buyer for the mount...

and I (as many), have an extra silverwing fairing mount you can have. (aside from some other spare items)

I don't know if you know it but it looks like you scored a markland trunk extender. That alone could be worth what you paid.
This lady I picked up was a GL500...the gent found some more parts and was kind enough to give me a call, so I may end up with extras as well.

A lady I work with has storage units that she rents and told me she thought there was a CX500 in one of them that was for sale...my missus is getting upset again because I just got rid of 4 bikes and here I am bringing more home

I'm sure a lot of you guys know but Honda did not make their own full fairings until 1981. Craig Vetter was the

first on the market with full fairing and luggage combinations that Honda bought as options for their motorcycle

lines like the Goldwing and you could of course get them as a afterthought for motorcycles like the 1978 CX500 I

had 30 years ago. Vetter had enough of a problem keeping up with the demand, but when a fire destroyed one of their

warehouses, Honda at that time decided to make their own fairings. Would have been interesting to see what the Vetter

version of a Hondaline fairing would have been like.

That's good information...I got the bags and trunk and match what the gent found for the GL...would be nice to see what the faring really is.

I know Vetter supplied OEM for Kawasaki, but I don't think Honda ever bought from Vetter. They were common dealer adds, though.
