Does my GL500 have a harness connection for an electric fan assuming I am switching to a 650 engine?
If not, does anyone know where is the best place to hook it up?

The 500 harness does not have provisions for electric fan connections. See Shep's article on the e-fan conversion.

Are you using the GL650 radiator and fan?

the gl 500 has a accessory circuit ends with a white fuse holder and green wire on top of or near the air box under the seat
I connect the 650 fan wiring to this fuse when i switch to a 650 in a 500

When I put the 650 engine in my GL500 (so many years ago people on the forums weren't even sure it was possible) I studied the GL650 wiring drawing and connected it the same way, basically connecting the fan motor to the bike's black (switched power) wire and the switch to a green (ground) wire.

Connecting to the accessory circuit would work but I had the stereo connected top that and wanted to be able to turn it on with nothing else powered.
