Time to call upon the experts again.I want to put the passenger seat on my bike & remove the trunk,problem is I'm missing the grab handle & cowl that fits over the taillight. My question is this ,I can get both pieces from a Gl650 but from the parts listings the cowl piece has a different part number than the Gl500,grab handle however is the same.Do you think the cowl from the gl650 would fit my gl500?I looked the forum but couldn't find an answer.Thanks Lee

I think it's the same. Maybe one has a honda badge on it and the other doesn't.

It fits. Probably just a color code difference.

The paint colors and striping motif changed from 82 to 83, hence a different part number.



While I can't verify by actually having replaced one for the other, I would consider it a safe bet it will fit.

Thanks Guys.I called today to see how much he wants, $50 for the two pieces,seems a bit much but what do you do.I can't see any on the bay so I guess I'll have to bite. Thanks again for the info
