Has anyone replaced their monoshock for a GL500? Air ride suspension is cool and all... except for when the shock doesn't hold air.

Any suggestions on a specific shock to throw on it? Or should I just make the measurements and find a replacement the right size?

Also, my front forks don't hold air either. Is it worth replacing seals or are they known trouble makers? Any other compatible forks for the GL, or would that be a triple tree and the whole 9 yards kinda job?

Thank you for any help

Try replacing the Schoeder Valves. They often go bad with age.

I used a 2004 Yamaha xvs650 monoshock. Fairly simple switch, but it lowers the bike a bit so there is not much lean when on the kick stand. Once I replaced the fork seals and new fork oil it helped a lot with the lack of kickstand lean. Haven't put many miles on the Yamaha spring but it made a huge difference from the dead monoshock I took out.
