I own an 82 GL500 that has Honda bags and fairing attached. I also have the stock trunk that takes the place of the back seatwhen mounted on the bike. The bike is in almost new condition with 1800 miles on it, so it's a machine I would like to keep for some time. I have seen pictures of the rear trunk and rear passenger seat mounted on the bike at the same time. I never seen this configuration in person. I would like to find the brackets and hardware to apply this set up to my bike.

If anyone has this set up on there bike presently, a few pictures of the set up and mounts would be greatly appreciated so that I might set off to find the pieces I need.

Thanks

Don

Here are two pics that I have...........the most common or supposedly the best is Markland Trunk extender(and the most expensive),there are several brands and types

The red bike has a Markland..if you do a search for Markland there are several threads on extenders and some are being home made

I was making a few but i'm not sure any more if I have a place to make them as of yesterday.

Short story

My neighbor who said I could use his garage stopped me yesterday on my way to work and said that he came home drunk the other night and couldn't figure out how to park the car in the garage with the bike in there. So he asked if I not park the bike in there till the snow flies again. To what extent that actually means who knows but I was more disturbed over the fact that he was driving drunk and didn't care about it.

I would put money on it that he doesn't even enter that garage again till october. Of course 3 weeks ago he told me I could have free reign on it since he guaranteed me that he wouldn't be back in there till october. So it sits vacant. Well that's not true it has a 10 speed bicycle in it and a kids sled.

I'm just glad I got David W.'s extender done before I got this news.

Keep an eye on the selling and buying forum. They pop up there occasionally, that's where I found mine. You may even want to post there that you are looking to buy one. If you can do your own fabrication, there are plans for them here on the forum. They can be fabricated with or without a welder.
