Anybody know if a GL 500 exhaust will fit a 650 engine swap on my GL 500?
I know the headers will fit the heads diameter and the 500 headers inside diameter are just a couple of mm smaller than those from a 650. Other than that will it work to use my 500 exhaust for the new 650 engine?
I hope so because I have an almost perfect set of pipes and H-box is in great shape as well as almost new mufflers.

Hi Frank, yes you can do that, or I should say I have been running 500 exhaust with a 650 engine in the bike. Did have to slot the H-box mounting holes to get the header pipe sit straight into the exhaust port. Sorry don't have a picture of the slot I made in it. Does have to move up and forward about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch . Cheers
