I took my 79 CX-C gauges apart to clean/chrome/modify and am now drawing a blank on how the chrome goes back onto the gauge.
There is a captive stud with a standoff... a rubber washer with a 'centering' high spot, a chrome washer and an acorn nut.
I put the standoff over the stud, put the rubber on that.
I put the chrome bezel on and it fits nicely into place with the rubber centering it nicely.
Then the trouble starts... When I put the washer on, it sits too high as the standoff keeps it a good 1/4 inch from the bezel.
I thread the nut on and it will tighten the washer against the standoff but the bezel is loose against the gauge.
Am I missing a part? or grey matter?
