I have seen some pictures floating around the interwebs of a motorcycle with the speedometer and tach on the side of the bike rather than up by the top triple. I wasn't able to find the picture I was thinking of so I took the two below. As I see it, it could be accomplished rather easily by creating a mount from either the engine guard or one of the bolts on the front of the engine. Does anyone have an opinion on this set up? my only thought was that if the bike crashed the gauge might be a casualty, do you see anything else as a possible concern with this set-up?

since you ask...:) Looking down is a bad idea when riding. Bad enough with the people texting in their cars, litter on the road, deer etc.. Watch them..and ... well, Tachometers don't tell me much my ears don't anyway. The temp gauge is the useful part of the dial imo.

in other words, I really don't like it! down there.
