Is this normal? my custom's gas tank hits the radiator cap very slightly.

I have to loosen the tank to get my radiator cap off. It is a tight fit and annoying. I have a '81 custom.

i think its normal my tank is the same way on my 82custom

It's a normal problem to have the tank cover the radiator cap. Did that on all customs. And someone noted that the customs are also tuck under the frame further so if you have a deluxe it should be slightly to the right.

Yup. Tank rest on the rad cap on both my 1980 & 81 cx500c.
