I am thinking of replacing the old yucky fuel filter for a nice new glass one. The fuel pipe is a kind of metal thing somebody has bodged up probably old break pipe. Any thoughts or experiences and anyone guess the fuel pipe size 6mm?

1/4" works and it would be nice if you could find some of those spring clamps in the proper size:

http://www.mcmaster.com/param/images/htclamps/5324k21.gif about $6 for a pack of 100

http://www.mcmaster.com/param/images/htclamps/5246k72.gif about $5 for a pack of 20

http://www.mcmaster.com - the first place to go when you're looking for something unique.

BTW: JC Whitney has a FREE shipping promotion going on, I got a see-through filter with a sintered bronze element for $3.99 with free shipping: http://www.jcwhitney.com/fuel-filte...-3/16-1/4-fuel-lines/p2002783.jcwx?filterid=j

The free shipping code is RESTORE but it's only good until midnight May 2. It may be a straight design filter but I'll bet there's a way to get it in there until I can chase own the preferred K&N 81-0222 from a place that doesn't want #15 shipping on something that only weights 0.03 lbs.

I just bought a few spring clamps. I couldn't find a place that would sell only a few so I ended up buying a fuel filter replacement with spring clamps in the lawn mower section.
