Hi everyone,

Joined the gang here in Minnesota for the 10th annual Spring Ride and BBQ. What a great time, Many Kudos to Randall for setting this up.:vs_biker: Beautiful day, with 14 bikes, mix of of Cx500, Cx650. One cx500TC. some Wings (we made them bring up the rear), LOL, and a Beamer.

Probably averaged about 63 MPH, More of a touring ride, but was totally impressed with the MPG on my cx500 Turbo. I got 55.3 MPG
:th_AnimatedBravoSmi Pretty shocking, was not expecting that.

Bike ran flawlessly. Now if I can just find and get rid of that little front end squeak, LOL What a great time and a beautiful day.

What sort of MPG is everyone else seeing out there?

Don't know about CX650TC, though my CX500TC runs similar, only if I cruise without turbocharger.
When I ride with fully turbo running, the worst record is 20 MPG.

Short run stop and go Cx500C 42-5 ish

and if stations are far between on a 500c

you have to "Short Fill" to avoid running out

5-6 stops a day :puke::puke:

On the spring ride this year I got 51 mpg with the GL650. This year it had a little Spitfire fairing. Last year on the spring ride dry run with the full Hondaline fairing I got 46 mpg on the same bike. It's a mystery.

I've got 2 newer Kawi 1200's and they both also get 50 mpg, carbureted. These are 125+ HP bikes. The old CB750 45 mpg on a good day, the CX500 gets 55 mpg.

The shop manual for my 1972 Yamaha G7S, a 80cc single, says it gets 190 mpg at 25 mph, but I haven't bothered to get it running yet to test that.
I'm only going on at length about this to bug you Murray, you do realize that, right?

My " 6.6 Gal. Tank" is a GL1000

CX500C will semi-retire in June.

Unless somebody wants a 6300 Mi.

unit.

I don't think I'd be able to say more than just 45-55 mpg. My speedo is off by 3-5mph by those roadside radar gizmos (speedo reads low) so odometer may be off too, I'd need to fill the tank to the exact same fill line every time also.
Most of my riding is local, half to one hour shots for commuting and I tend to stay between 3700 and 4500 rpm, depends on the road grade. I have gone on a few 5hr+ jaunts and up to almost 8K rpm and it gives an appearance toward the higher end.

thumper you dont get 50 mpg from the kawis when you are pulling 125 hp

it takes fuel to make power
My Hayabusa averages 48 to 50 mpg at 80 mph and it's 175 hp.

The 500T averages about 50 at a constant highway speed over flat interstate. My more powerful 650T does 2 to 3 BETTER which of course is much lighter and has far better gearing.

My 79 C with Hondaline fairing will average around 54 mpg if I keep it under 70.
I have not done a sample at higher speeds.
