Bought a GL500I wheel off of eBay. Looked a little rusty here and there, but it is old. The problem is, how do I get the axle out? I think the speedo is rusted onto it! I'm assuming the speedo side is not how the axle slips into the wheel, but rather the terminating side? At any rate, the axle and speedo are one

I've been PB Blasting this SOB all night and no joy. Tried whacking it with a rubber mallet, and tried pounding the axle with a hammer through a board.



Any ideas on this one?

Did you remove the axle nut from the other side? Due to its shape it could be mistaken for part of the axle. See the GL500/650 factory service manual for instructions and an exploded view.

Probably not. I have a cx500 so this axle is different from mine. I'll check the schematics.
