Rules are al Follows:

Politics and religion shall not be discussed in any forum section including Off Topic.

Personal attacks, insults, flaming, inciting, or otherwise abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Only one user account is allowed per person. Persons with multiple accounts created prior to February 6, 2011 will not be penalized for having those extra accounts, although the extra accounts may be deleted at any time without notice.

The penalty for first offense of any of the above infractions after a report has been received is loss of posting privileges for two days. For the second offense, one week. For the third offense, permanent banning.

Posting spam or porn is not allowed and will result in immediate banning.

Guidelines:

Treat others with the same respect and dignity that you would wish to receive. If everyone did this the above rules would be unnecessary.

Rule violations can be brought to the attention of the forum staff by clicking the Report button. Let them handle the problem without getting yourself involved. The moderators will review the problem and collectively determine the appropriate action to be taken.

Forum members are strongly encouraged to edit their profile to show their location and to edit their signature to show their bike’s year and model. This information is especially important when seeking technical support as many subtle differences exist among the CX/GL family.

The above rules and general guidelines have been approved by Charles.

Fill Out Your Profile Before You Post (see forum settings link in my signature or follow these instructions)

Follow these simple step-by-step instructions:

Click on your name in the upper right corner.

Select My Profile.

Click the Edit my Profile button.

Select Change Profile Information.

Enter your location in the location field. For US and Canada locations, enter the nearest city and state/province.

For other locations, enter the nearest city and country.Click the Save Changes button.

Select Change Signature.

Enter your bike's year and model in the Edit Signature block.

Click the Save Changes button.

This information is important. You will be asked for it if you have not already entered it. Honda made many changes in the various CX/GL models between 1978 and 1983 and in various locations throughout the world. The accuracy of the information/answers you receive depends upon having the necessary information available to correctly identify your bike.

Please use a descriptive and informative topic/subject line when creating posts. There are many threads on the forum and vague titles make it difficult to keep up with them. Your chance of getting meaningful replies increases significantly if readers know what the topic is about.

How to Post Photos

3rd party hosting sites have proven unreliable so it is always best to upload your pics directly to the forum. To do so click the icon that the red arrow is pointing to in the pic below. A window will open that gives you the choice of either uploading a pic from your computer or from a web address (always make sure the Retrieve file box is checked when using a URL)

Useful Information

The Quick Reference thread in the General Discussion section contains many links to information specifically applicable to these bikes. It is an excellent lead-in to the majority of issues that arise.

Factory Service Manuals are available for download. Many additional useful files can be downloaded from the parent folder. A Google account is required to access these files.

The CX/GL Wiki under construction also contains much useful information.

And finally, welcome to the forum. We hope you enjoy your stay.

I have to add a few things. There is a concerted effort on tap to help with the SPAM issue. So, please be patient. The staff are working hard to keep it at bay.

There will be some changes forthcoming, and when that information is ready, we will pass it on. It won't be a bad thing, I can assure you of that.

In the meantime, keep reporting the spam, keep posting, and keep riding. And do all those things safely. THIS IS A FAM DAMILY>
