OK today i am rebuilding my fork and know it is time to fill them with fluid the book said to put 4.5 to 4.7 oz of atf , does any have a opinion on this? is there something that you found that works better? Something for the minnesota weather On a different subject i am still looking for swing arm parts for a gl500

miller,hi and a warm welcome.no one can advise the quantity of fluid,because they do not know which year and model you have.put it into your signiture line,so it always shows up.

i use 20w oil.and im more than happy,stay away from atf.its a 30 year old oil[ish[

And 20w Belray is my choice.



CX500Z, A, B 1978, 1979; CX500C, D 1979, 1980 : 135 cc in each fork leg.



CX500 C 1981, 1982 : 220 cc in each fork leg.



CX500 D 1981 : 185 cc in each fork leg.



CX500 EC (Eurosport) : 265 cc left leg and 250cc in the right leg.



All GL500, GL500D and GL500I : 210 cc in each fork leg.



CX650C : 480 cc in each fork leg.



CX650 E-D (Eurosport): 290 cc left leg and 275 cc right leg.



GL650, GL650D2-E, GL650I : 275 cc in each fork leg.

Yep no need for a manual there. If you don't know it already then you will never know it.
