Marshall,

I saw another post, from somewhere, sometime, and it had a list of Hondas that came standard with fork braces, I believe there were 5 models that would fit your bike and allow for dual discs. Just thinking out loud here, but maybe you should take that $100 and search out an older Honda fork set and triple tree for about the same cost and get the dual disc upgrade for free?

Nice idea, but then I'd have to change the master cylinder and who knows what else? I, and the guy that's been doing most of the work, are pretty much getting to the point that we want to wrap up the project. The bike will be almost perfectly restored to stock except for the paint color, fork brace and windshield I plan to add.

Oh, and having an electric fan instead of a potential radiator eater.

Well, I ordered one. They do have a nice high-tech appearance.

Only thing that concerns me is they state it will fit 1979-1981 and I thought they bumped the fork size up sometime during that period?

As long as we´re alking CX 500 models I don´t believe anything happened to fork size before 1982. After that I´m not so sure - maybe fork leg dia went up to 35 mm (like on GL 500)??? Check anyo nline parts fiche site (fork seals) to make sure.

On a GL 500 I owned many years ago I made this upgrade. Worked wonders. I also have a set (TAROZZI) on one of my -81 standard model CX 500 now. I have a feeling it makes the front fork a little better in bumpy bends, but the difference was much more noticeable on the GL.

The inner fork tube diameter increased over the years. The fork braces typically clamp to the OD of the lower outer fork stanchion. I don't know if or when these changed, but it is probably not in concert with the inner tube changes.

Actually when I found their chart all those years did use 33mm fork tubes so the outer would probably be the same.

Received the brace yesterday - it's a real Tarozzi and appears to be well made.
