I got a chance Saturday to open up my speedo and find out why it wouldn't move. The gears were all bound up with crud and old grease (is flood speedo). After getting them to move and cleaning with I re-lubed with caliper grease and put it back together. The best part was I didn't have to cut the trim ring, just pried it back on the back side and it came off. Unless you look at the back of the gauge you would never know I was in there.

It wasn't too bad once I got it started. Took about 10 minutes to get it opened up enough to remove ring. Not bad at all in my book, plus I enjoyed the challenge.
