I would say make sure the engine cranks and the pistons aren't locked. Then give her a spin. I would expect jelled carbs and all the fluids needing to be changed to get signs of life.

Wait, Abe... are you saying the 650 water pump seal can be done IN the bike? I thought it was only the 500 that that worked on. Please prove me wrong as it will save a lot of laborI won't be upset![]()

Should be able to be done like sheps method. Just replace the rubber guts. I think the yamaha seal might even have the right guts.
