Good morning from 0 degree Boise! I am working on tearing apart my 81 GL500 and video recording every step for my own benefit. Would this be something I should post on Youtube to possibly help others? I am no mechanic but usually work on my own stuff. I dont know half of what I am looking at until I grab a manual. I am having a great time doing this and just wanted some feedback on if others might benefic from it or just enjoy watching me make a fool of myself. I am trying to do it in 10 minute segments and pre loosening everything so the videos are not painfully slow. Curious what the community thinks of the idea.

If you edit and film really good you could make a living from it... Just copy some styles out there if your up to it. The best style is the one that draws people in who DONT even ride bikes.

Check out this pretty simple style, the name is BMCO and its relativley simple but I think he has made a ton of money based on views etc.

That's pretty cool! I am pretty sure people not interested in bikes would pay to not have to watch my video. It is a fun project but everyone in my family thinks what I view as "fun" is pretty much the opposite of fun. Thanks for responding guys!

It's all about # of subscribers and content that folks want to watch. Think it takes time and effort to keep pumping out vid's
Your link has 300k subscribers, so he is making $$

To start earning money directly from YouTube, creators must have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours in the past year. Once they reach that threshold, they can apply for YouTube's Partner Program, which allows creators to start monetizing their channels through ads, subscriptions, and channel memberships.Oct 21, 2021

How many YouTube views does it take to make $100?

How much money do Youtubers make per 1000 subscribers?

So you receive 55% of every dollar paid by advertisers) The estimated earnings that the average YouTube creator could expect to receive from ads on a new video on their channel if EVERYBODY watched the ad on their video and the advertiser paid the average $7.60 CPM is 55% x $7.60, equaling $4.18 per 1,000 views.Sep 2, 2021

I honestly have no interest in using Youtube for anything other than finding information. At 45 years, I am tech savvy enough but pretty old school in thought and dont plan to change that. I would post videos for the purpose of sharing info. Other people posting DIY videos have saved me countless thousands of dollars in hiring others to do work for me. It might feel pretty good to be the guy helping someone else for a change. I will look into posting soon.

Thanks , don't mind helping out the person making the Video, but can't afford to waste money.

How goes it Mobile?
It goes man. Been a rough year. The house was a nice reprieve from all the other garbage thats gone on for me, but it's also added projects. I need to get past this injured shoulder and PT so I can get back to working on bikes. I maybe get one good day of heavy lifting then I'm toast. How have you and the fam been?

Yeah, to me a house is a blessing and a curse. Now it depends on what kind of house it is. I have a 50+ year old "fixer upper" so there is ALWAYS something that needs done... which ALWAYS takes time away from what you want to do. That is partially why i haven't made any progress on my bike, life has gotten in the way and it unfortunately has taken a backseat to everything else. :(

Sorry to hear about your injury & rehab, not fun.

Every blessing is a burden, and every burden is a blessing. That's true of everything.
